I have 14 years of IT director experiences to lead and manage IT department in the university, to provide IT support and services to the university’s staff and students. The services including IT help desk operation, IT resources management (software, hardware, audio and video, IP phone etc.), campus networking construction, server’s management, website design and hosting, application software development etc.
I needed to collaborate with academic and administrative units to implement IT related system/project, responsible for analyzing users and system specification, hardware and software tool evaluation and selection, purchased price negotiation, the service and maintenance contract review, system implementation, installation, and coordination.
I had standardized and developed the IT service policies, security, operation and procedures, setup an online application and document management system for streamline the university workflow.
I had initiated the college to adapt the learning management platform for managing the teaching and learning activities. The covid-19 pandemic had changed the education dramatically with the distinctive rise of e-learning. Therefore, I helped the academic to customize their course sites to use in the online and independent teaching and learning.
In order to better understand the teaching requirement, I had also taken up the teaching assignment in the university, it helped me to identify the deficiency of the IT services provided to the teaching and learning activities.
Yearly strategic and budget planning is also one of my responsibilities to ensure it aligns with the university goals and missions, raise and transform the IT service to the next level of higher performance.
Last but not least to provide a professional IT service, it requires a team of competent and good service attitude members, besides encourage the team member to acquire the new technology, I trained the team members to have the right Customer Service Attitude and communication skills.
As the Information Technology Director at the American International University of Kuwait since June 2021, I have been responsible for overseeing the IT department and ensuring the smooth functioning of all technology-related operations within the university. My key responsibilities include developing and implementing IT strategies to support the university's goals, managing a team of IT professionals, overseeing network security and data management, and ensuring the efficient operation of all IT systems.
I have successfully led various IT projects, such as upgrading the university's network infrastructure, implementing new software systems to enhance teaching and learning, and improving cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive university data. Additionally, I have collaborated with other departments to troubleshoot technical issues, provide training to staff and students on new technology tools, and manage the university's IT budget.
My role as Information Technology Director has been critical in ensuring the university remains technologically advanced and equipped to meet the evolving needs of students, faculty, and staff.
I hold a Master of Computer Science degree from the University of Wollongong, NSW Australia, conferred in June 1997. This advanced degree has equipped me with a deep understanding of computer systems, algorithms, and programming languages. Through rigorous coursework and hands-on projects, I have developed expertise in software development, data analysis, and system design. My Master's degree has provided me with a solid foundation in computer science principles and has prepared me for a successful career in the technology industry. I am eager to apply my knowledge and skills to contribute to innovative projects and drive business growth.
