About Melba
For 50 Years Melba Support Services has provided people with disabilities truly individualised services that create more choice and greater control. We see ourselves as a human rights organisation because we place the people we support at the centre of everything we do. At Melba we believe in providing high-quality services and are proud to have over 1,400 people across Victoria who choose to work with us.
As we continue to grow and serve the community, we look for new team members who are great with people, have lots of energy, are flexible and resilient and enjoy the close relationships you can build with others. Why not join our team?
About the role
Melba has casual to permanent opportunities for Disability Support Workers to provide one on one support to individuals to access the community, participate in recreational activities and to lead the life of their choosing. You’ll help people figure out what they love (their goals) and work towards that. It’s not about doing things for people; it’s about providing just enough support at just the right time to help them do things. It’s their fabulous life afterall. We're looking for a great team who will be flexible and willing to provide additional supports to cover leave. We currently have the following shifts available:
Support for a man who lives in Pakenham and loves to get out and about in his community, such as walks around his local parks, cafes, animal centres, explore new activities and using public transport to attend events
Supporting a gentleman who lives in his own home, with personal care, assistance with grocery shopping and other general tasks around the home.
Provide a man who lives in his own home with support with his gardening jobs, including some mowing amp; general garden maintenance as needed. If you have a passion for supporting people in the great outdoors, then this could be for you! A footy lover is a bonus!!
Support for a social young lady to access her local community, including accessing her regular weekly activities, meeting up with friends, and attending planned trips to events. The successful applicants will be committed to working towards developing a long-term support arrangement.
