About the Role

A Network Engineer is responsible for providing network support for our clients environment across a variety of technologies ( Cisco, Fortinet, HP). You are expected to provide exceptional levels of service and assistance to rectify and solve issues as they are reported.

This role is open for any of our Australian offices (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth or Canberra) with WFH flexibility and open for Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents and Visa Holders (no sponsorships provided).

What you’ll do

The core objectives and responsibilities of the Network Engineer include:

  • Support customer network environment/s from an Operational/BAU capacity
  • Establish and nurture relationships with appropriate staff both within Datacom and our clients
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership to more junior staff
  • Perform reporting duties

You’ll have the opportunity to continue developing your expertise in working with technologies including Routing, Switching, Firewalls, VPN amp; Remote access, VoIP, WLAN, and Load Balancers. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to the latest in technology and to continue learning as we introduce new services and products for our clients.

What you’ll bring

To be successful in this role, you must have a broad and comprehensive knowledge of Network Infrastructure including demonstrated skills and experience in:

  • Experience at a Managed Service Provider (MSP) is essential.
  • Engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems
  • Understanding and experience of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
  • Experience in configurating Cisco and/or Aruba WiFi access points and controllers
  • Thorough understanding of switching protocols including VLANs, Spanning Tree, HSRP/VRRP, and other switching protocols used in Enterprise Networks
  • Understanding and hands on configuration experience in Quality of Service (QoS) on routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting IPSec Site to Site and Remote Access VPN's.
  • Experience with firewalls such as Fortigate , Cisco ASA, Palo Alto
  • Understanding but not required, configuring and managing Load Balancers such as F5
  • Experience in using monitoring tools such as PRTG, Solar Winds ect.
  • Understanding of the Change Management process and ticket management.
  • Currently hold a CCNA as a minimum.

  • Fortinet NSE 4
  • CCNA, CCNP Preferred
  • PCNSE
  • CWNA, ACMA

In additional to your technical expertise, you will be a strong team player and an open and effective communicator with the ability to work autonomously and contribute to overall team outcomes. The nature of this role will suit a person who works with a sense of urgency and has a proactive work ethic.
