The Program Director will be responsible for ensuring that the academic programs in their portfolio are of the highest quality; meet the accreditation requirements of the University partner and relevant accrediting bodies; and are best practice in online learning. The portfolio will include all Swinburne Online undergraduate and postgraduate education programs, and other programs assigned by the Swinburne Online Academic Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with senior staff from the University partner.
  • Lead and engage remote teaching teams, oversee marking and moderation, and lead the education placements team.
  • Ensure seamless change management for OES staff and students by working with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain oversight of program delivery schedule and contribute to the ongoing review of program structure.
  • Ultimately responsible for student satisfaction, progression, and completion, and serve to support academic governance for the wider Swinburne Online portfolio.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated academic leadership experience in Higher Education with oversight of tertiary course preparation.
  • Post-graduate qualification (Master's in Education or higher) and experience in primary or secondary education sector.
  • Passion for education and student-centric approach for ensuring high-quality student experience and success.
  • Gravitas and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to influence OES, University, and sectoral stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and "get things done", establish a culture of employee engagement and foster innovation.
  • Strong track record of delivery within tight timeframes, analytical skills, sound judgement, strategic thinking
  • Willingness to work on-site and on-campus in metropolitan Melbourne for up to 2-3 days per week.
