We are looking for another member to join our Engineering Team: a working environment consisting of highly educated, skilled, positive, innovative, and enthusiastic employees. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position enables you to work on complex and rewarding projects with blue chip clients in offshore and subsea industry.

DOF Subsea are currently seeking to employ an experienced Design Engineer (Analysis) on a contract or permanent basis.

DOF Subsea projects involve creation of plans and procedures for subsea installation and recovery operations including crane lifting, flexlay, mooring lay and towing. By modelling and simulation of these operations using Orcaflex software, Python automation and hand calculations in Excel, you will develop operational methods and assess those methods for feasibility, offshore operability and design loads. Your analysis will support project teams and the structural design and drafting team.

You will be a creative self-starter and problem-solver. Modelling operations, you will be thorough with an eye for detail.

Primarily responsible to the Engineering Manager, you will ensure that DOF Subsea engineering standards are observed for assigned tasks.

Due to the immediate start, you will need to be currently based in Perth with Australian work rights.

Requirements

  • A four-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Offshore Engineering or Naval Architecture that is recognised by Engineers Australia for Professional Membership;
  • Recent experience in analysis of subsea installation and recovery methods including SURF projects;
  • First principles understanding of splash zone hydrodynamics, ship motions and behaviour of flexibles;
  • Proven ability to design and specify lift rigging to DNV standards;
  • Current experience in using Orcaflex software, Python and MS Excel;
  • Demonstrated excellence in English report writing in MS Word with the clear ability to tailor reporting to suit the intended audience;
  • Enthusiasm for proposing and developing solutions to complex problems;
  • A practical problem-solving approach that works in the real world; and
  • A strong commitment to HSEQ.
