About The Team You’ll Be Joining
ShiftCare’s Design, Product amp; Delivery team is on a mission to make ShiftCare accessible to more businesses across Australia amp; the United States.
This year, our team is doubling down on critical roles including design to help us achieve our company level strategy.
So far we’ve launched ShiftCare into the US market but this is just the beginning of our journey. As a Senior Product Designer joining ShiftCare, you will help us in ensuring product market fit across our targeted segments while building out best practice preparing us to scale.
What You'll Do In The Role
You'll lead the design direction and UX strategy for our ShiftCare web and mobile products. This includes defining and delivering end-to-end experiences that empower ShiftCare’s users to plan amp; manage the delivery of quality care. Your sphere of ownership covers:
The build out of intuitive workflows which enable Administrators and Carers to self onboard amp; self educate on both web amp; mobile platforms.
Ensure effective collaboration between Administrators, Carers and Patients.
Simplify the process of booking, rostering amp; scheduling.
Speed up the process of consuming information amp; filling out details while on site providing care.
Create streamlined experiences that helps users find and connect to 3rd party software to address specific needs.

You will work with product, marketing and engineers across ShiftCare and have a team-focused design mentality. You are excited for and have experience in leveraging every aspect of the user-centred design process to tackle challenging user problems and are comfortable collaborating with and influencing stakeholders across ShiftCare to achieve alignment and buy-in.
You are our foundation designer, you’ll have the opportunity to build out practices and processes which not only enable great products for today, but enable scale in the group tomorrow.
Goals you'll achieve in the first 6 months
- You'll understand the ShiftCare product and our 2023 strategy.
- You'll work with our Product Lead to understand our users, and identify opportunities for improvements based on user insights and business strategies.
- You'll ship your first feature to our ShiftCare users.
- You'll inform and contribute to building out the ShiftCare roadmap by working closely with a cross functional team, advocating for our users and through design exploration, validation amp; prioritisation.
- You will have started the journey in formalising how design is done at ShiftCare.
About The Role
- You’ll start from the very early stages: finding the right problem to tackle, exploring ideas for how to solve it and then refining it into a coherent solution.
- As a Product Designer you will carry out: research, brainstorming, sketching, prototyping, and collaboration with our engineers to ship great products.
- You will advocate for users and respect our users’ opinions through interviews, usability testing, and data analysis.
- You’ll create user flows and wireframes that simplify user interactions.
- You’ll create flowcharts, and journey maps to show the different stages that customers go through as they come into contact with ShiftCare.
- You’ll visually communicate your ideas through prototypes to test with users.
- You’ll rapidly iterate through different design solutions; bucking convention in favour of progressive ideas.
- You’ll partner with engineers, product and other disciplines throughout the company.
- You’ll solve complex problems and whiteboard ideas to confidently come up with simple, elegant solutions that everyone can move forward with.
- You are able to understand the different trade-offs and align design solutions to ShiftCare’s business goals. Activities include: writing well-balanced strategy docs; providing different design options to show trade-offs; creating hypotheses and experiments focussing on revenue and MAU growth; ability to apply industry trends to ShiftCare scenarios and designs.
