Job Description

The Pepperstone story started in 2010. We know what it’s like to trade the world’s markets. Our team describes us as a place for the curious and the driven, and we like to do things a little differently; as a transformative global fintech we’re digital, nimble, connected, and united in our vision to create a better way to trade.

We thrive on progress for our clients and for ourselves. Our organizational culture is ever-evolving, vibrant, diverse, global and results focused. You’ll find our 350+ team currently across 9 locations and time zones.

The Role:

As our new Senior UX Designer, you'll be joining a passionate Experience Design team. We’re a courageous and curious bunch, exploring new technologies and ways of working to continuously grow. When you join our team, you will be fully immersed in the product development lifecycle from understanding the business and customer problems to co-designing with cross-functional teams to delivering customer-focused experiences using agile delivery techniques. Keeping on top of design trends and technology developments, and working closely with the rest of the team, you'll promote Design Thinking, HCD, and good user-experience practice across Pepperstone, driving quality and delivering customer-focused solutions.

We're looking for someone who is obsessed with the customer experience, can tackle complex problems head-on, and transform them into experiences that not only look great but are meaningful, intuitive, and easy to use. You'll be an expert at combining business objectives with customer needs to create tested deliverables such as personas, user journeys, sitemaps, wireframes, UI designs, and interactive prototypes.

Sounds like you, but not ready for a full-time position? We are open to considering both full- time and part-time team members. Tell us about your part time availability in the screening question section of the application form.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Ascertaining requirements from a range of stakeholders including business stakeholders, delivery and technical leads, and Product Manager/Owner
  • Creating new designs, including (but not limited to), user flows, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes
  • Delivering designs for each release by providing production-ready assets and supporting the development team through the implementation
  • Working with engineering colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure brand, style, and usability guidelines are adhered to

About You:

  • A curious mind. The ability to think a little left of field and dig deeper into a problem
  • Previous experience (3+ years) working on projects of different sizes and complexity across multiple platforms
  • Excellent skills in Figma [preferred], Sketch, Adobe CC, and of course a strong post-its game
  • A good technical understanding including limitations of native mobile platforms
  • Strong, clear communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent facilitation and collaboration skills, a flexible and open-minded approach to working in Agile teams
  • Exceptional customer empathy and the ability and desire to put the customer at the centre of everything you do
  • Strong decision-making skills, and the ability to adapt to new information and changing circumstances

Why you will enjoy working with us:

  • Competitive salary structure including company bonus scheme
  • Genuinely collaborative and friendly culture
  • Flexible and hybrid working
  • Remote working option - work from anywhere for up to 6 weeks per year, in addition to hybrid working as standard
