Job Description

Inventory Controller

  • Warehouse supports Northern Star KCGM operations through providing high quality supply, storage and distribution of goods to mining, processing, exploration and site support teams.

About our role

Reporting to the Warehouse Superintendent, the Inventory Controller role delivers high quality inventory management services and solutions to maintain the uninterrupted supply of goods to operations, and strategic inventory analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Optimise KCGM inventory through analysis of master data and inventory transactions, making recommendations for changes to inventory holding through approved processes.
  • Develop and tracking, review and action areas with KPIs related to inventory management to share and action with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate slow moving inventory reviews, with an aim to continue cleansing programs, making informed recommendations, in line with disposal guidelines, about the disposal method that provides the best outcome through sale, scrap, recycle or waste.
  • Management of Rotable inventory and material preservation
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders and coach and educate customers and internal team members in the intricacies and importance of effective Inventory Management
  • Development of strong working relationships with site maintenance, warehousing and purchasing team to promote inventory optimisation
  • Work with the Warehouse Superintendent to actively champion warehouse and inventory continuous improvements, supporting other team members to actively participate in the process.

Required skills and experience:

  • Skilled in inventory management, with previous experience in mining or other heavy industry
  • Computer literacy in Pronto or similar ERP, and Microsoft office
  • Knowledge of warehousing, procurement and contracts processes
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical / problem solving and decision-making skills
