Job Description

The Opportunity:

This is a fantastic and rare opportunity for a leader in manufacturing operations to take their career in management to the next level. The role is responsible for leading and coordinating the overall production function, driving key initiatives and engagement across safety, quality, continuous improvement and operational excellence to meet strategic and productivity goals and further develop the team and function for future success.

Collaborating with stakeholders across the manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, maintenance and project management functions, this will prove to be an interesting, challenging and rewarding opportunity requiring the successful candidate to draw on and expand their existing skill set and experience.

About the Role:

The role is based at our Smithfield site and reports to the General Manager Manufacturing amp; Engineering Vinidex amp; APAC.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, implement and develop the Aliaxis SHE culture through visible and effective leadership and workforce engagement.
  • Act as a role model, leading and developing a high performing Manufacturing Leadership team.
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of the total production function by maximizing output within the defined quality levels and forecast requirements through the effective utilization of resources.
  • Develop a culture of collaboration between manufacturing, distribution, engineering and project management resources, align on key projects, resource requirements and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and implement improvements to all aspects of the manufacturing environment whilst incorporating lean principles and techniques.
  • Lead site EBA negotiations and ensure win win outcomes for employees and business.
  • Actively lead and develop the potential of current and future leaders within team.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • At least 10 years of proven successful experience in leading manufacturing sites, having held leadership roles, preferably within the plastics industry
  • Passionate about Australian manufacturing and growing the capability within Aliaxis
  • Champion of and experience with Continuous Improvement/ LEAN
  • Experience in working in a matrix environment desirable
  • Business knowledge ability to understand the strategic impact of their decision making
  • Effective at engaging and leading stakeholders across levels, and businesses in order to realize goals and objectives
