About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated and highly organised individual who enjoys working with a variety of people across a range of cultures and markets, to join our Procurement Team in the role of a Quality Engineer.

Based in our Adelaide Office on Greenhill Road with regular travelling to Booleroo Centre, this role offers an opportunity to take your career in Global Supply Chain to the next level. You will work closely with the Global Procurement Manager, the Engineering Manager, the Operations Team and several other employees and managers within our highly skilled team.

You will receive on-the-job training that will see you develop and expand on your existing skills and experience from your previous work in a similar role. In addition, this role provides the opportunity to be involved in the ever-changing growth and ongoing development of our internal systems as a result of Kelly's commitment to continuous improvement.

The commencement date for this role has been set for February 2023 (negotiable if seeking an immediate start).

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with suppliers and the procurement team to ensure the components meet the required specification
  • Providing engineering support to the procurement department to determine the cause of quality issues
  • Produce failure investigation reports
  • Analyse and review BOM changes and identify areas of improvement
  • Managing engineering changes and non-conformances
  • Implement amp; monitor quality metrics including trend analysis of discrepancies and defects
  • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection
  • Liaising with Suppliers regarding product improvement and new development
  • Assisting in the onboarding process for new suppliers
  • Understanding and execution of Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts and principles
  • Provide support to suppliers to carry out Production Part Approval Process activities effectively

Amongst these key roles, you will also be required to contribute to the development, understanding, and application of a Continuous Quality Improvement program to ensure that the Organisation remains competitive, through:

  • Participating in and maintaining the ISO:9001 Quality Management System
  • Maintaining quality controls over work orders and production lists
  • Using forms and checklists to ensure compliance
  • Undertaking spot checks and audits, and remedying any issues or concerns identified
  • Overseeing the enforcement of Work, Health amp; Safety principles
  • Assist in building the culture of CQI throughout the Organisation
  • Assist the procurement department with technical questions
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required
  • Assist the Global Procurement Manager with projects and technical questions

Requirements

The Quality Engineer will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills, attributes and qualifications in order to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant work experience in the Quality Assurance field
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience with databases and spreadsheets
  • MUST have knowledge in Solidworks or CAD
  • Must have full work rights in Australia
  • Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
