We are currently seeking a General Handyperson to join the Maintenance team on a casual basis. The position is based at our Eliza Purton home in Ulverstone, Tasmania.
Supported by our grounds person you will assist with the general repair, maintenance in the facility. This is a hands-on position, requiring the individual to manage their own workload with a can-do approach and a knack for thinking creatively!
The role duties include:
- General repairs and maintenance including but not limited to; painting, cleaning, replacing light globes, etc
- Assisting with our preventative maintenance throughout the facility including resident rooms and public areas
- Maintaining hygiene and occupational health and safety requirements by ensuring that work is carried out safely and securing all areas of work at all times
Requirements

- Proven broad practical general knowledge of building and facilities maintenance
- Ability to carry out a variety of Handyperson tasks
- Self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic with excellent time management skills
- Able to work both unsupervised and within a team environment
- Reliable, honest and good communication skills
- Willingness to provide a high level of service
- Be well presented, punctual and efficient
Previous handyman and Trades Qualification will be highly regarded but not essential
To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate is required to provide a current National Police Certificate without conviction that would preclude employment in aged care. Candidates are also required to provide evidence of their vaccination against Covid-19 or a valid medical exemption.
