Please note that this is a 6 months contract covering for parental leave.

The Data Analyst role is to support and enhance the student experience by provision of insights into student behaviour driven by analysis of internal and external data. Translate analytical findings into practical intervention strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the lead analyst to provide recommendations to the wider business through the use of data analysis techniques, e.g. predictive/prescriptive analytics or machine learning
  • Support improvements to retention initiatives and student experience through the provision of insights or implementation of statistical models
  • Conduct evaluation of retention initiatives to determine what impact they have on student performance metrics
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders to understand their analysis requirements; present results of analysis in an easy to interpret way using different data visualisation techniques
  • Provision and maintenance of regular reporting in Tableau
  • Ad-hoc analysis requests and data provision
  • Supporting data integrity and reducing any inconsistencies in data

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in statistics, analytics, mathematics, computer science or related discipline
  • Experience in a professional services or corporate environment in analytics, reporting or data engineering function
  • Understanding of databases / SQL programming
  • Strong numeracy, writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to deliver high quality results and work within deadlines

Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to data visualisation tools, Tableau preferred
  • Python and / or R coding experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and articulate technical issues to non-technical audiences
  • Experience in AWS services Redshift, Sagemaker, Comprehend, Athena etc.
