About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and based at our site in Smithfield, this role is key in the delivery, continuous improvement, safety and monitoring of production assets to ensure optimal plant performance and strategic maintenance activities are achieved. It requires a solutions-based approach to work, ensuring planned repairs and unplanned breakdowns are managed efficiently and effectively while maintaining best practice standards to meet the expectations of both internal and external customers.
Role Accountabilities
This electrical apprenticeship role will develop and build on your knowledge and qualifications, providing the opportunity to gain experience in industrial electrical work, PLCs and VSDs while working in a continuous improvement environment. You will also have opportunities to be involved in change management projects to the benefit of maintenance systems and processes and our internal customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- The delivery of reliable, efficient, safe, strategic and routine preventative maintenance activities;
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure production schedules and goals are achieved;
- Responding to break down situations to repair to all plant equipment as requested by the relevant Manager/Supervisor
- Prioritising work requests entered in the CMMS system;
- Recording use and stock of critical machine and process parts;
- Maintaining all registers, logs and systems to track repairs, notifications and work activities;
- Liaise with supervisors and machine operators about performance of equipment;
- Develop amp; maintain a close and collaborative working relationships across the Production, Planning, Toolroom and Engineering teams;
- Working to pre-determined and measurable KPIs.
About you:
- Licenses: forklift, EWP, confined spaces
- An understanding of hydraulic amp; pneumatics, water process plant and associated equipment
- Welding competence (Mig/Tig/Arc)
- Experience in CMMS
- Satisfy the pre-requisite requirements for commencing a Maintenance/Mechanical Fitter apprenticeship or currently completing a Fitter apprenticeship
- Strong understanding of safety and environmental practices with a commitment to best practice
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sound decision-making, prioritisation and time management skills
- Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team
- Flexibility and a can-do attitude
