Job Description

Our biosensor technology has been used in more than 10 billion measurements for blood glucose monitoring and blood coagulation in diabetes and coagulation patients worldwide. Recently, we have pivoted our technology into the wine industry with our global launch of SENTIA in early 2021; and, we are soon to enter the veterinary market in early 2023. Further, we continue to develop new applications for our technology within human health, food and agriculture.

What you will do

UBI is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and driven individual to join our team at the Corporate HQ in Rowville (Victoria) as the Quality Control (QC) - Senior Analyst within the Operations team - the right candidate will be regarded as the 2IC to the Quality Control Manager.

As the Senior QC Analyst, you will provide essential support functions to the operation of the QC Laboratory onsite in addition to assisting in scheduling product calibration requirements with our wholly-owned Canadian laboratory operation.

Who you are

We are looking for a proactive candidate who is tertiary-qualified in the Scientific field (chemistry or biochemistry preferred) with a minimum of 5 years’ industry experience in a QC role within a regulated (cGMP-compliant) environment.

The role will perform (but not limited to) the following activities:

  • Conducting all routine/non-routine analysis, verification of raw materials and finished product, against established specifications and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Setup and operate laboratory equipment in cGMP-compliant process, including routine calibration, maintenance, safety checks and initiating equipment repairs when required.
  • Assist in implementing amp; maintaining sampling plans and goods inwards inspection process.
  • Qualify and validate test methods and equipment.
  • Assist in deviations, OOS, OOT, and CAPA investigations.
  • Produce solutions required for production process.
  • Assist in internal, vendor and regulatory audits; follow up and close out of audit actions as required.

Requirements

You are a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively bringing knowledge and skills such as:-

  • Strong working knowledge of laboratory equipment and analytical test methods
  • Working knowledge of Australian and European code of GMP, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, 21 CFR Part 820, Health Canada’s SOR/98-282 is desirable
  • Understanding of QMS requirements and documentation
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across all functions within Operations as well as the Ramp;D team
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Sound statistical knowledge would be well regarded
  • Work to meet internal/external customer requirements
