About the role

You’ll be a guest in someone’s home and no two days will be the same. You’ll lead your team to work with supported persons as they identify what they love and how they want to live their life. You’ll make sure the roster runs smoothly, team members are developed, budgets are managed and most importantly people at the residence get to live their fabulous life the way they want.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and plan support for people with disabilities within their home and community
  • Advocate within the broader community for inclusion, participation, and respect for rights
  • Manage all aspects of team performance including rosters, records, quality, and compliance
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with a range of external parties and health providers
  • Administer medication treatments, therapies or seek assistance according to protocols

Requirements

You’ll have

  • A passion for enabling and working with people from all walks of life
  • An open mind with an empathic, mature style to deal with the unexpected
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of person-centered active support, positive behaviour support and its implementation within a diverse team
  • NDIS Screening Check, Working with Children Check, current unrestricted drivers’ license and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Advanced Diploma Sector Management or Bachelor of Applied Science (Disability) or other equivalent qualification
