Overview of the Role

Rystad Energy is seeking a proven Business Development Manager with a strong track record of sales to drive business growth of its research offerings into the Buyside Financial Institutional segment in Australia and New Zealand and the Renewables segment in Melbourne. The Business Development Manager will report to the Head of Business Development Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell Rystad Energy’s research offerings to the Buyside Financial Institutional segment in Australia and New Zealand and the Renewables segment in Melbourne
  • Develop and execute product-driven and segment-focused client acquisition strategy
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to meet sales targets
  • Engage with, present amp; pitch to prospective clients (prospects) daily, while adopting a consultative and solution-oriented approach in order to win new business
  • Work closely with internal cross-functional teams Marketing, Product, Research, Client Training and Services to drive engagement with prospects and close deals
  • On successfully bringing in new clients, manage the client accounts to ensure renewal of services as well as growth through upselling/cross-selling of offerings
  • Constantly promote the Rystad Energy brand and values externally in all interactions with prospects and clients

Experience and Qualifications

  • Candidate must have a permit to work in Australia
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 3 years of B2B Sales experience within the Energy industry and/or Buyside Financial Institutional segment in Australia ideally, experience in selling Energy-related business, market intelligence services or SaaS products to the Buyside Financial Institutional segment in Australia
  • A strong network of relationships within the Buyside Financial Institutional segment in Australia that can be leveraged for new business generation
  • Proven track record of surpassing sales revenue targets through a combination of new business development and existing account management
  • Ability to engage with individuals across all levels within target organizations, including Senior Management/C-Suite
  • Experience in internal stakeholder management i.e., experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional and multi-national teams internally to drive prospect/client engagement and revenue generation externally
