Northern Star's KCGM operations is currently seeking a Processing Shift Supervisor to join our Fimiston Processing Team. The Processing Department is responsible for the treatment of ore provided by KCGM's Open Pit and Underground mining operations in a manner that ensures maximum gold recovery and superior cost management. The purpose of the Shift Supervisor - Fimiston Production role is to provide shift supervision and leadership to the Fimiston Processing Plant and ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Supervise and provide leadership to a team of Shift Process Technicians to maintain and improve performance and drive a positive workplace culture that reflects the KCGM Core Values
- Coordinate, assign and monitor daily activities of shift personnel to ensure throughput is achieved and optimal productivity is maintained
- Coordinate maintenance priorities and liaise with Maintenance personnel to ensure maintenance requirements are addressed in a timely manner
- Coordinate and monitor the training progress of shift-based Process Technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to manage their workstations effectively and safely
- Plan and coordinate the production requirements for shutdowns of the plant to ensure the shutdown process is carried out safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimal disruption to the plant. Note, this also includes management of all permits and isolations throughout shutdown
** This is a Kalgoorlie residential role based at our KCGM Operations on a 7/7 roster, day and night, working 12 hour shifts. The successful applicant will reside in the Kalgoorlie Boulder Region. **
Required skills and experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years working in mineral processing or related industry with at least two (2) years supervisory or senior technician experience
- Highly developed interpersonal skills enabling effective communication at all levels of the organisation
- Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
- Sound leadership skills, including the ability to coach, train, and influence the behaviour of others
- Must reside locally within the Goldfields region, or willing to relocate
- Current Unencumbered Western Australian C Class Drivers Licence
Preferred
- Process Controller experience
- Metalliferous Mining Certificate
