Job Description

Highgate is a leading supplier and manufacturer of food processing supplies and packaging products for beef, lamb, poultry, pork, seafood and produce processors!

You would be joining a young, passionate, and energetic team, and becoming a vital part of our culture of excellence.

We are looking for an energetic and experienced International Purchasing Officer to join our extensive growing business and to help shape our future, working from our Melbourne office.


Key Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Timely and appropriate replenishment of inventory
  • Order scheduling and watertight planning
  • Management and coordination of FCL and LCL international freight from door to door
  • Product and packaging quality management
  • Maintaining KPI targets related to stock on hand
  • Keeping inventory arrival times accurate and communicated
  • Timely replenishment of raw materials for our production arm

Requirements

Minimum requirements needed for this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Purchasing, Procurement or a related field
  • Previous in-depth working knowledge of logistics related to importing international FCL and LCL shipments
  • Highly organised with the ability to plan purchases 1-2 years in advance
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities in a fast-paced environment
  • A troubleshooting approach: you’re able to manage information, identify any root causes of potential obstacles and then extract and manipulate any data as necessary
  • You possess sound business judgement, with a track record of successfully delivering quantifiable results
  • You’ve previously gained significant experience dealing and communicating with overseas suppliers
  • You possess sound business acumen and judgement, with top notch Excel and data analysis skills
  • You’re an excellent communicator with fluent English (both verbal and written); you’re also able to liaise confidently with management.

  • You already have a customer-oriented focus and temperament, you thrive on challenges when they arise, and carry great interpersonal skills
  • You’re competent: able to manage high levels of ambiguity, while thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
