  • Classification: Consumer Service Delivery Level 4 with a salary range of $88,850 - $92,865 per annum + Superannuation
  • Location: Geelong, VIC

Overview of the position

The Peer Support Leads are exciting roles responsible for leading Peer Support Workers to deliver high quality services to guests experiencing mental health crisis presenting to Head to Health Geelong. You will lead the Peer Support workers to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team inclusive of mental health clinicians, mental health registered nurses, medical officers and consultant psychiatrists. Peer Support Leads and Workers will support a high engagement model of care, through actively greeting and supporting guests (consumers) throughout their time at Head to Health Geelong. Peer Support Workers are an important element of the team approach and bring the wisdom of experience to many aspects of service delivery including intake interviews, service promotion, partnership work and case reviews.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Mental Health Qualification: It is a requirement of the Peer Support Lead position that you hold, and provide Neami evidence of, a Mental Health (or equivalent Human Services, Community Services) qualification of Certificate IV r above, or complete such a qualification within 2 years of your commencement of employment.
  • Lived experience of mental illness, mental health crisis or caring for someone living with a mental illness and demonstrated experience of recovery
  • Experience of the public or private mental health system
  • Proven experience at managing teams within the area of community service delivery or providing supervision
  • All staff are required to adhere to the Head to Health Geelong immunisation policy directives to minimise the risk of vaccine preventable diseases to protect workers, other employees, guests and visitors.

Mandatory role requirements:

  • Neami National will require, as part of our condition of employment, that all candidates applying for any position must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (have received three doses), (or have received two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine and have a scheduled appointment to receive their third dose.)
  • Candidates will be required to provide appropriate evidence of COVID-19 vaccination to Neami National.
  • National Criminal History Check (Police check) disclosable outcomes considered
  • Current Working with Children Check required before commencement of work
  • Current Drivers licence
  • Australian Working Rights
