THE BUSINESS

Cruise Whitsundays is an award winning, innovative, and experienced maritime operator, based in Airlie Beach. Our experiences include day and overnight tours throughout the Whitsundays, as well as resort connection services. We are proud to offer Australia’s first underwater accommodation, Reefsuites, on The Great Barrier Reef and exclusive Reefsleep experience at Reefworld moored offshore at Hardy Reef, 40 nautical miles from Airlie Beach.


ABOUT THE ROLE

We have a unique Full Time position working a lifestyle roster, 8 days on/ 6 days off, at our Reefworld Pontoon located on the Outer Great Barrier Reef departing from Airlie Beach, QLD. Shared accommodation and meals provided whilst on-duty at the Reefworld Pontoon.

As an ambassador of the incredible experiences that we bring to life, the Reef Experience Manager, is responsible for the effective management and delivery of our Hardy Reef pontoon operations ensuring each and every guest has an experience of a lifetime. With your 5-star luxury hotel environment, you will inspire and motivate your team of Pontoon Managers, Pontoon Caretakers, Hosts and Chefs to uphold exceptional delivery standards, productivity, operating rhythm and a high-performance culture. As the senior leader of Reefworld Operations you will take pride in your ability to;

  • Lead the team in delivering exceptional and professional guests service and marine activities;
  • Oversee safety, maintenance, presentation and functionality of pontoons;
  • Role model effective communication and empathetic interpersonal skills;
  • Lead and deliver a high service culture, positive work environment and team morale;
  • Conduct staff training, tool box talks and performance conversations with crew;
  • Quality control of all food and beverage, housekeeping and other service provisions;
  • Assistance with concierge services, hosting and conflict resolution for all guests;
  • Ensure all Pontoon crew cooperate and present in line with all company policies and procedures;
  • Actively drive staff engagement to ensure there is continuous improvement in service and experience;
  • Manage crew workflows and hours ensuring budgetary requirements are met;
  • Proficiently perform administrative tasks autonomously;
  • Confidently utilise technology and communication devises remotely;

You are passionate about the hospitality industry and have a demonstrated commitment to delivery the best standards of customer service. You are driven to create amazing experiences through sharing special places and shaping lasting memories. With your knowledge and experience in a similar leadership role within the Tourism Industry you will be eager to join our team and showcase your people management, guest experience, food and beverage, housekeeping and marine skills.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hospitality/tourism management experience or equivalent;
  • Experience working in a 4/5 star service environment;
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid, HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation amp; HLTAID015 Apply Basic Oxygen
  • QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • COVID Safe Dining In Certificate
  • QLD Blue Card (Working with Children's Check)
  • Qualifications in Hospitality and/or Travel amp; Tourism highly regarded but not essential.
  • Coxswain Grade 1 NC Certificate will be highly regarded but not essential.

Whilst based in Airlie Beach, your primary work location is Reefworld and Heart Pontoons located offshore on the Great Barrier Reef working an 8 days on, 6 days off lifestyle roster whereby your accommodation and meals are supplied for rostered shifts.
