The Position

Melba are seeking an experienced Outcomes Manager - Authorised Program Officer in our Southern region to ensure compliance for NDIS mandatory reporting and maintain high-quality, person-centred behaviour support plans. You will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to facilitate maximum outcomes for supported people by overseeing and actively contributing to regular reporting of restrictive practices and the quality of functional assessments, behaviour assessments and individual planning.

You will work in accordance with legislative requirements to authorise regulated restrictive practices and implement NDIS behaviour support plans as well as assist in critical incident management and complaints management.

You are a positive and energetic leader, committed to contemporary practice approaches, including Human Rights and positive behaviour support with expertise in coaching and mentoring. You must be highly flexible and adaptable and can demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills by building collaborative relationships with stakeholders and demonstrate a commitment to service excellence.

You will also bring with you:

  • Previous experience in compliance reporting as required by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and State and Commonwealth Government bodies/departments
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification in Disability
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, coaching and mentoring to facilitate best practice at service delivery level
  • Comprehensive understanding of and experience in the provision and application of Positive Behaviour Support and/or have previously held the role of APO
  • Previous experience with assessment and planning for people presenting with complex support needs
  • A collaborative and committed approach to partnerships supporting best outcomes for people supported
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form effective working relationships with supported people, families, Melba staff and management and external bodies supported by your high level written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Creative and lateral approaches to thinking and problem-solving
  • High level organisational and time management skills with a proven ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work autonomously
  • An Australian drivers licence
  • A genuine commitment to the promotion of self-advocacy, human rights and person-centred active support and zero tolerance practices
  • Evidence of Covid 19 Vaccination including Booster

Successful candidates will be required to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.

You must be able to obtain and maintain approval to act as an Authorised Program Officer from the Victorian Senior Practitioner and obtain and maintain Authorised Reporting Officer status within the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
