About the Service
The Kalgoorlie Mental Health Step Up Step Down Service (KMHSS) provides a community based support option for people who are becoming unwell and at risk of being referred to hospital (‘step up’) or are leaving hospital but in need of extra support to transition back to into the community (‘step down).
This service provides a safe and supported residential space to promote individual recovery from mental ill health. During their 28 days stay consumers are assisted to develop a wellness plan and engage in a variety of supports aimed at promoting their social and emotional well-being. The Service Manager works collaboratively alongside a multidisciplinary team which includes Senior Practice Leaders, Community Support Workers, Lived Experience Workers Administration Support. The service is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and is accepts referrals from anyone residing in the Goldfields. The Kalgoorlie Step Up Step Down is operated by Neami National and has in reach from several partner organisations including WA Country Health and Hope Community Services.
About the Role:
The Service Manager will initiate, lead and coordinate strategic partnerships within the community and amongst local government, community housing, and health and welfare providers to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for consumers. They will coordinate the recruitment and selection of staff with support from HR, ensure practice development (supervision), training and skill development is provided, and manage the service budget including; monitoring progress against financial targets and ensuring priorities are established and met.
