The opportunity
We are looking for Infrastructure Economist to join our Project Advisory and Assurance team to contribute to our portfolio of clients seeking our advisory services on various projects across various infrastructure sectors, including transport, health, and schools.
Your work will involve:
- Contribute to the delivery of advisory services through business case development, financial and economic analysis, strategic advice, feasibility studies and infrastructure prioritisation.
- Researching, analysing, and assessing the effects of infrastructure investments and programs on economic growth, health, and education.
- Analysing interrelationships between economic variables and studying the effects of government fiscal and monetary policies, expenditure, taxation and other budgetary policies on the economy and the community with a focus on infrastructures such as transport, energy, and water sectors.
- Investigating international and national economic situations, and particular features such as industries, regions and socioeconomic groups and their connection with Infrastructure.
- Forecasting changes in the economic environment for short-term budgeting, long-term planning, and investment evaluation in infrastructure.
- Formulating recommendations, policies and plans for the economy, corporate strategies, and investment, and undertaking feasibility studies for projects
About you
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Minimum 2 years experience as an economist working on infrastructure projects or in the construction sector.
- Good technical proficiency in economic modelling and financial assessments of infrastructure projects.
- Understand the requirements of State and Federal Government funding processes such as business case development and applications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate complex concepts to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Good presentation and organisation skills and willingness to articulate analytical outcomes.
- Ability to work as part of a team but as an individual contributor.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Economics.
