The Marketing team at Marley Spoon is a passionate team of experts, great at what they do, energetic and growing. We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for an established Growth, Marketing and Brand professional to lead this team in Australia for all of our brands. You will be working alongside the Australian CEO and our Global CMO in our matrix organisation to help us achieve our company goals.
Your Role:
- Lead the AU Marketing team to deliver commercial upside and customer delight across a growing portfolio of brands
- Expect to dive deeper and broader than communications and media plans, and into strategic growth initiatives, organisational efficiency and leading global projects
- Grow an engaged customer base for all four brands, using the relevant local channels at your disposal including pricing and promotions, NPD, physical product experience and leveraging our own channels
- Build, develop and retain the Marketing team to be the envy of the industry
- Drive commercial outcomes for the multiple marketplaces within the group - using pricing, bundling, promotions to drive conversion, building on your retailing and merchandising experience
- Identify and drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities between the brands and within our market-leading partnership program and network
- Own the topline revenue outcome for the Australian business
- Supervise the various teams within the team (comprising Growth, Content and Brand functions) and provide support, guidance and career opportunities
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on marketing metrics for the leadership team
- As a member of the Executive team, provide guidance and counsel to the business on Customer impacts and priorities
- Develop a practical and prioritised marketing plan for the department and support its day-to-day implementation
- Support and lead marketing operations (product development, branding, communications, etc.), and ensure they project the company’s unique voice and distinct differentiation between brands in the portfolio;
- Participate in the quarterly and annual planning and quarterly review of company objectives, including developing materials for company offsites and team activities;
- Network with industry experts and potential partners to drive brand awareness and customer acquisition
- Pilot growth programs and marketing experiments in Australia, with a view to roll-out globally.
Requirements
- 10+ years experience in senior marketing leadership and growth roles, e.g as CMO, VP Marketing or Marketing Director with a proven track record in offline and digital marketing, team coaching and development, customer acquisition, brand building, partnership and content strategies
- Demonstrable experience designing and implementing successful short and long term marketing strategies and campaigns, with experience in a matrix organisation an advantage
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, the role requires positive collaboration and partnership with colleagues across the organisation locally and internationally
- Strong background and evidence of successful collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, plus project management experience at a global level
- Confidence with data: you must have a track record of data driven decision making and a bias for action
- Strategic mindset, entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to make difficult decisions
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or relevant field
- Experience with cloud based platforms and collaboration tools, eg. Asana, G-suite, Confluence, Slack and commonly used data visualisation tools
