SICE ANZ is currently seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our software team in Melbourne responsible for SICE’s proprietary software (SIDERA) requirements analysis and definition through all the project phases, from the design to the configuration, integration, testing, commissioning and go-live.
Key responsibilities of this role include the following:
- Write software engineering documentation (specifications, design, test plans, manuals).
- Administrating and maintaining the test environments for SIDERA.
- SIDERA deployment and database distribution in all test environments and integrating it with various systems (including PMCS and TMCS).
- Testing, diagnosing and correcting errors and faults in the software within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards to ensure the system performs according to the specifications
- Identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures, and methods.
- Liaising with the team in Spain on resolving issues related to SIDERA.
- Participating in the testing and commissioning activities of the system before going into operation.
- Configuration of SIDERA as part of the software implementation process of the project
- Liaising with suppliers and identifying firmware issues that can affect hardware integration with SIDERA.
Requirements
The preferred candidate will have qualifications in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and at least 2 years of experience in software engineering roles.
SCADA domain knowledge and skills, knowledge of relational databases (SQL) and an understanding of troubleshooting software processes and methods are essential.
Coding /Scripting, and automation skills will be highly valued.
