We are a fast growing team that is searching for a Senior UX Designer to join our LMS Platform team who enjoys learning, having fun and can help us advance our mission!
What your new team and job look like
The LMS Platform team is dedicated to creating a platform that Moodle’s products can leverage, while optimising the platform’s performance and usability, and integrations with other software solutions and plugins.
As Senior UX Designer, you’ll have a significant role in improving the usability of software currently used by millions of people worldwide. As an advocate for the end user, you’ll conduct research into user behaviour and be the expert in understanding our users’ goals, needs, and pain points. You’ll play an essential role in our product development team, providing new feature design as well as day-to-day design support to the team.
At Moodle no 2 days will ever be the same, but most days in this role usually involve a mix of:
- Designing tools and features for both beginners and advanced Moodle users
- Demonstrating deep user empathy and effectively share user experience sensibilities with team members
- Working iteratively to solve complex business and technical problems through sketching, diagraming, wireframing and rapid prototyping
- Conducting frequent user research and usability testing and gather data to inform your design decisions
- Collaborating closely with developers, team leads, and other designers to ensure goals and deadlines are met
This role can be based anywhere in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region! In Australia as a permanent employee, or anywhere else in APAC as a contractor. Just let us know where you are when you apply.

Requirements
We'd love to meet you
Especially if you can talk to us about your:
- Extensive experience as a Product Designer, UX/UI Designer or in a similar role, on a web application product
- Excellent practical understanding of design principles including colour, layout, and typography
- Demonstrated ability to work with tightly defined pattern libraries and style guides
- Fun and friendly person who likes the sound of a social team
- Enthusiastic communication skills (in english): This role is a voice of the customer within the team
- Creative instincts, who looks forward to joining a team with high standards
- Great design portfolio showcasing detailed case studies and test and fail processes leading up to the end solution
