ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Pontoon Managers are an integral part of our leadership team primarily responsible for the supervision and mentoring of Pontoon staff; and overseeing the servicing and maintenance of ancillary vessels, machinery and equipment on our Hardy Reef pontoons ensuring the best facilities and staffing for our day and overnight guests. Together with your team, you will share special places and create lasting memories. Your days might include:

  • Training, mentoring and performance management of crew;
  • Ensuring exceptional presentation of the Pontoons and Auxiliary vessels;
  • Vessel handling and compliance with Safety Management Systems;
  • Maintenance and operation of pontoon generators and engines;
  • Customer service and product delivery working closely with the hospitality team;
  • General pontoon operational tasks;
  • Undertaking crew training including in-water training and vessel inductions; and
  • Conducting rescue and lookout duties for guests.


ABOUT YOU

You will be a team leader with strong leadership and proven supervisory experience, effective communication skills, demonstrated positive can-do attitude, be comfortable living and working on water for extended periods of time (8/6 roster) and be passionate about delivering exceptional guest experience.

Requirements

  • Be passionate about the marine tourism industry with a real commitment to delivering the best standards of guest experience you see everything through a guest centric lens
  • Know your stuff, be an effective leader with deckhand and vessel handling experience and demonstrate a general aptitude for maintenance and engineering a trade background will be highly regarded
  • Have all the safety things we need too like a Coxswains (minimum), Radio Licence, RSA, Covid Safe Dining In, Blue Card and a Senior first aid certificate. Master and/or MED qualifications are highly regarded
  • Be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
  • Safety focused with experience conducting risk assessments and drills, and implementing practical safety measures
  • Ability to comprehend inclement weather procedures (Cyclone procedures) and understand weather forecasts
