Job Description

The Opportunity:

Each year sales reps around the world collectively earn over $300 billion in commissions for their efforts. Despite this scale, calculating, communicating, and reporting on commissions is a painful challenge for the majority of companies. Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) software seeks to solve this problem, but the legacy ICM vendors have failed to deliver on their promises and businesses and sales teams remain frustrated with their sales comp programs.

Performio is a modern ICM company that is changing this story. Our product balances the flexibility that large companies need in a sales commission solution with the great user experience buyers have come to expect from software today. But software alone is not a silver bullet. We back up our product with a team of highly-motivated and engaged compensation experts with a clear set of values and behaviors. The market has responded favorably to our product and team. Today we are growing at over 75% annually and serve a global customer base across 25+ industries that includes many well-known companies like Abbott Labs, Toll Brothers, News Corp, Johnson amp; Johnson, and Vodafone

While our DNA is of a scrappy, bootstrapped startup - we are now a mature growth stage company, with a fresh round of capital from JMI Equity to accelerate our efforts to become the midmarket ICM leader. This role will oversee key functional and platform areas for our product offerings. The goal is not just framing and prioritizing the features needed to make the customers happy; the product manager must consider the complete picture of the market and look at all the work that we do through the lens of growing the business. They will drive adoption to optimize our products for usability, productivity, and the key customer journeys.

What you’ll do:

  • Understand our customers, product, and market in order to create a vision and products that work well for customers and drive the business forward

  • Consistently and clearly determine priority and help others in the organization understand tradeoffs and direction
  • Create and maintain team roadmap aligned to company direction and strategy and periodically present it internally and externally
  • Use market data, customer data, and user data to make informed priority decisions
  • Build relationships with customers and make their voice heard with your team and across the company
  • Work with UX and engineering teams to plan, architect, and design product features, and coordinate cross-team planning and architecture when needed
  • Help build the culture that enables our cross-functional team to innovate, ask questions, learn quickly and deliver extraordinary product growth
  • Write user stories with detailed requirements, use cases, and acceptance criteria for development
  • Be an expert in the product solution area of ownership, understanding the business cases and desired outcomes of solution
  • Fill product owner responsibilities by managing, planning, and helping execute scrum team development sprints within an agile environment and track the impactful metrics
