Windows Administrator

We are looking for a Windows Systems Administrator to join on a 6 month contract. This role is a key member of a small team that ensures the day to day operations of the server, storage, backup and security environment is maintained. This position also manages and responds to infrastructure alerts, monitoring and remediation activities and also a small part of security framework.

Requirements

• Manage the installation and integration of systems fixes, patches, updates, and enhancements using a centralised management system.
• Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
• Manage systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, and recoverability.
• Maintain systems configuration, automate system alerts, monitoring and hardening.
• Optimize infrastructure performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Manage and maintain the cyber security base and reduce the risk of security breaches.
• Ensure proactive management of security incidents, investigating complex cyber security events, including the analysis of indicators of compromise, attacks, telemetry data and alerts.
• Conduct real time monitoring, analysis and triage of security events and alerts from multiple sources and respond to these alerts, eg Industry security partner alerts and recommendations.
• Embed a proactive cyber security mindset and raise awareness of IT security across Council staff.
• Manage and report on information security incidents and strengthen the security posture of the organisation.
• Provide technical support for penetration tests, security access and configuration audits, security exercises and phishing testing.
• Knowledge of SCCM, Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, vCenter, PRTG, vRealize Ops and vRealize Log Insight, Powershell Scripting
• Knowledge and experience with ASD Essential Eight and OVIC frameworks.
• Manage, implement and uplift Councils Essential Eight security status to maintain the cyber security efficiency of systems including cloud services to reduce the risk of security breaches.
