About the Role
Based in Sydney as a Credit Controller you will be responsible for activities that include collecting payments, investigating delinquent accounts, analysing account performance, making recommendations to release orders on past due accounts and investigating bankruptcy claims. This is a fixed term contract for a period of 9 months. You will coordinate efforts and escalate to Business and or AR Manager when internal collections are not effective as well as maintain records, files and generate related aged debt reporting. This role has a strong focus on analysing, recommending and rolling out process improvements within the Accounts Receivable Team.
What you’ll do
As Credit Controller you will:
- Responsible for a ledger of approximately 300 customers ensuring payment is made within agreed terms.
- Work closely with accounts receivable team to assist collection strategy processes
- Monitor amp; analyse collection trends amp; identify debt issues at an early stage for resolution
- Provide explanation for variances, discrepancies and other exceptional data
- Work closely with customers and business, facilitate relationships in a commercial manner and facilitate/support in dispute cases
- Liaise with business to solve queries relating to disputed invoices
- Support Management to ensure thorough financial analyses of the viability of all commercial propositions and positions
- Responsible for keeping client accounts current and achieving monthly and quarterly targets
- Document concise customer status updates for Management
- Monitor/update all customers on regular basis for change in possible credit status, alert
Management as to significant credit status changes. - Manage a client Blacklist, make recommendations as to additions or removals from Blacklist
What you’ll bring
You will have:
- 2-5 years collections experience
- Proven experience in reducing aged debt
- Ability to clearly communicate both written and verbally with internal and external clients.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong persuasion and negotiation skills
- Ability to liaise with multiple internal partners and build strong relationships
- Active listener and an understanding to customers’ needs to enable relationship building
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
