Traverse Alpine Group are an experienced hospitality operator with a demonstrated track record in delivering a high standard of food and beverage services in remote areas. Traverse Alpine Group is the largest hospitality employer in Falls Creek and is now hiring for a year round role with the Maintenance amp; Logistics Team.
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance worker to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional. Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge. You must also possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.
Applicant must have a trade background such as builder/carpenter, plumber or electrical trade
Responsibilities
Summer Duties
- Assist venues with winter mobilise and demobilise
- Assist Maintenace Manager to carry out repairs and maintenance to venues as required to assist summer opening and closing.
- Assist Maintenance Manager to thoroughly inspect each venue for damage / repairs and maintenance, compile prioritised lists.
- Maintain fuel storage
- Assist Maintenance Manager and other trades to effect repairs
- Carry out duties in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain storage facilities at each venue
- Maintain inventory of tooling, materials and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of all storage facilities in all venues.
- Maintain a high level of safety at all times
Winter duties
- Carry out Repairs and maintenance of reported problems
- Attend to breakdowns and reactive maintenance issues
- Assist with logistics to remote venues on the mountain
- Assist venues in snow clearing of access ways and windows
- Assist with storage and delivery of goods
- Inspect and refuel over snow equipment twice weekly
- Assist Maintenance Manager in conducting regular maintenance inspections
Further General Duties
- Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc.
- Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
- Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
- Install appliances and equipment
- Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc.
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
- Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues
Requirements
- Proven experience as a similar position
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Experience using hand and electrical tools
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity
Desirable Qualities
- The ability to price and procure materials.
- The ability to arrange cartage of materials
- Driver's licence
- Forklift licence or Telehandler Licence (CN) an advantage
- Experience with over snow equipment highly regarded
