We are hiring a Warehousing Assistant to join our growing team.

Lyka was built on the belief that all puppers should live their best life. We deliver human-grade meals on a subscription to dogs all over Australia. We produce all of our food in our human-grade kitchen in Sydney.
Our company began when our founder Anna went on a journey to improve her dog Lyka’s health. Anna started creating a homemade diet for Lyka. In just a few weeks, Lyka had more energy, less tooth decay, and a healthier coat.
Since then, Team Lyka has grown to a team of ambitious and like-minded dog-lovers with a single shared goal: to serve our customers and their pupper with the best possible care on the planet. From improving digestive issues in puppers to bringing back the youthful energy in seniors we’re getting closer to our mission, every day.
Lyka is growing quickly, and no two weeks are the same. You will partner with each of the leads in each organisation to help us grow in headcount and also scale our culture and processes.

The opportunity
We are offering a casual full-time position for an experienced Warehousing Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position also offers the opportunity for permanent employment in six months.
We require a team member who takes pride in their work and is willing to be fully engaged in achieving the best outcomes for the company and is available for an immediate start.
Key responsibilities
- Communicating and supporting production and admin teams on dispatching job orders
- Maintaining inventory items in a manner that is workplace safe
- Management of inventory with goods allocated to correct locations
- Receiving incoming goods accurately checking, receipting and putting stock away
- Barcode scanning of boxes and pallets
- Assisting inventory control performing accurate stock take, cycle counts, and FIFO inventory management
- Manual lifting (able to safely and correctly lift 20kg, if needed), loading and unloading of stock
- Operating forklift to load and unload pallets and organise racking
- Work inside the freezer (-18'C) to access and organise its inventory
- General warehouse housekeeping and admin paperwork
- Warehouse presentation maintaining cleanliness, organisation and safety of the warehouse
- Comply with WHS standards
Requirements
- At least 2 years of warehouse experience and a Forklift Licence is a must (LF Counter Balance/High Reach)
- Successful completion of High School Certificate or higher
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work well with others or autonomously
- Ability to work from 1pm to 9pm, Monday to Friday (and ability to be flexible with hours, when required)
- Physically fit, with the ability to safely and correctly lift 20kg (knows and uses the correct lifting techniques)
- Ability to work in a freezer environment (freezer PPE provided by the company)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Punctual, reliable, and with professional work ethics
- Takes pride in their work
- Be willing to learn new systems and office procedures
