THE CHALLENGE
We are looking for a skilled Senior Front End Developer (React) to join our team and help in delivering on several key client projects for household names in APAC. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, your responsibilities will be to develop projects in league with client requirements and be the subject matter expert in building the user interface for these projects. As a Senior Front End Developer (React) you will be working on a number of different client projects. The role will be a remote based (work from home) role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain codebases for big-name clients in line with agreed deadlines;
- Ensure that coding standards are followed and maintained (including code reviews);
- Become the go-to for technical and development queries;
- Become the subject matter expert for the platforms developed;
- Work with clients and internal stakeholders to understand requirements;
- Utilize client requirements to make informed decisions on application development and feature designs.
Requirements
- Exposure to front-end frameworks and methodologies such as JavaScript, React, Webpack etc.,
- Have previously built responsive web applications using JavaScript, SCSS and HTML5.
- Demonstrable 3+ years of experience in modern JavaScript web framework such as React,
- Experience with state management libraries like Redux, Recoil,
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable code,
- Experience in writing automating tests (e.g. Jest, Enzyme, React Testing Library),
- Engineering front-end builds for security, performance and accessibility,
- Familiar with CI/CD and managing deployment pipelines. Have used CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Travis, AWS code pipeline previously,
- Knowledge of using AWS services such as DynamoDB, Redis, S3 amp; CloudWatch
You will also:
- Be flexible to work in a globally distributed team.

- You will also be comfortable in creating vanilla code.
- Thrive in a collaborative, creative team environment, provide mentorship for Junior and Intermediate Engineers in your team to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers.
- Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance that have particular impact across your team.
Nice to have experience:
- Node.js
- Python
- Good understanding of asynchronous request handling server side rendered React pages, partial page updates, etc.
- Understanding of Data Engineering principles.
- Maintaining and publishing NPM packages.
Demonstrable experience
Applicants will be presented with a coding challenge and are expected to be able to present and discuss code they have written and/or contributed to during the interview process.
Would be an added bonus if the applicants can show examples of their participation in the development community. This can range from a body of work that they have produced in the form of GitHub repositories, open source packages, personal websites, fully completed LinkedIn profiles, portfolios, articles written, Stack Overflow participation, etc.
