We’ve grown a lot lately, so the Culinary Team is looking for a Kitchen Hand to ensure our Test kitchen is safe, clean and runs smoothly.
Your role
- Support the Culinary team to ensure the test kitchen areas are alway a safe, clean, organised and hygienic environment and that all OHamp;S is observed
- Operate and use the industrial dishwasher. Required to wash dishes and equipment throughout the day
- Setting up and packing down each kitchen for each shift
- Support stock management, rotation, stocktaking
- Support waste reduction and sustainability of the kitchens and office
- Ensure all food is stored in a safe and appropriate manner
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and help with cleaning of kitchen and other areas as directed
- Assisting chefs with offsite recipe testing/shoots - bump in and bump out
- Support with office tasks where required by Test Kitchen Coordinator or other team members.
- Work on-site at our Alexandria office 5 days/week 12pm-5pm daily.
Requirements
This is you
- Experience in the food industry, such as working in a test kitchen or restaurant kitchen or other food industry experience preferable
- Proactive, punctual and reliable
- Working between the Test kitchen, studio, dry stores and office; this role can be physically demanding. Your role is to efficiently complete the daily requirements along with general kitchen duties.
- Collaborator who works well across teams and functions, with the ability to manage a fast-paced workload with enthusiasm and a can-do attitude
- Embraces a team culture, and committed to making a positive difference and impact in their role
- Prior hospitality /commercial kitchen experience is preferable. You will work closely with our chefs and will require a level of proactive communication to ensure we operate effectively and efficiently as a business and a team.
