About the Role

  • Part Time 0.8 FTE, Maximum Term until 17 January 2023
  • Maternity Leave backfill position
  • CSD Level 2: $64,363 $69,031k p.a (pro rata) + super + salary packaging + employee benefits!
  • Based in Noble Park

The Youth Residential Recovery Service (YRR) provides a safe and shared living environment for young people between 16-25 for up to one year. YORS meets young people face to face out in the community and through platforms of their choosing. The purpose is to encourage positive individual growth and development for young people with mental illnesses to improve their quality of life and broaden their opportunities. This is done through both individual one on one support and within a recovery-oriented group program.

As a Community Rehabilitation Support Worker, you will provide tailored support and will use an assertive outreach approach to actively engage with individuals to young people experiencing mental health issues to meet their individual goals and needs.

Community Rehabilitation Support Worker (CRSW) Core duties

  • Provide direct support and rehabilitation to young people experiencing mental health concerns and complex issues within a therapeutic environment
  • Promote individual goals, strengths, choice and empowerment
  • Engage consumers and develop trusting and professional relationships
  • Work closely with clinical case managers and community partners to deliver the best possible comprehensive service to consumers
  • Follow all WHamp;S procedures to ensure safe work practices especially in the area of safety in outreach work

What will you bring to the role?

  • Relevant experience in a similar role or transferable skills
  • Be a team player - Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a team, to meet program goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of complex mental health and drug and alcohol issues.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the recovery model
