Job Description

Napier is a technology provider offering the world’s first truly intelligent compliance platform for AML and trade compliance.

We are looking for an in-region solution architect, to support our growing client base and professional services team. You will be responsible for enabling our clients to adopt and integrate our solution into their technical landscape.

You will be working in the Professional Services team, responsible for the technical and data integration of the Napier AML solution into the client environment. You will have a have a solid background in a variety of typical enterprise architectures so that after gaining a complete technical understanding of the Napier platform you will be able to work with client IT teams to integrate our solution into their technical landscape and business processes. Our solution can be on-prem or hosted through a cloud-provider and the successful individual will be able to inspire confidence working in either style.

A significant part of the role will be around data integration and transformation. The Napier solution has a flexible data model and takes data feeds from a variety of client systems in many formats. To succeed in this role you will be able to work with both the clients’ business and IT teams to understand the meaning and purpose of the data in the feeds as well as how to configure the Napier data model and APIs.

This is a hands-on role. You should expect to be scripting, writing data transformations, performing JSON/XML manipulation, database queries and building data processing pipelines as well as running architecture and data security meetings with experienced clients. You should expect to be working on multiple projects around the world at one time (from the London base) and will need to assist the Napier technical services team in delivering your solution for clients.

The role will suit an individual with a strong technical background in data integration and networking with excellent communication skills who wants to take on more responsibility for client projects.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with client architecture, project and development teams helping them to integrate with the Napier platform (both technically and from a business process point of view)
  • Being able to describe the structure, characteristics, behaviour, limitations and other aspects of the Napier solution to client stakeholders at different levels/audience. This includes deployment methods (cloud/on-prem), performance, reliability, authentication/authorisation, data models, notification mechanisms, upgrades etc.
  • Pro-actively stay up to date on the Napier solution (features/functions) and work with Napier teams across PS, Operations, Product, Info Sec etc to ensure knowledge is up to date so that the individual can act autonomously in-region without over-setting expectations.
  • Pre-sales piece art of the possible, understanding client systems, AML flows, how to best-position Napier system / answer solution/technical questions within constraints of the Napier offering
  • Advising clients on infrastructure options when deploying on-site, including sizing and networking requirements
  • Understanding and specifying data-flows and data transformations requirements on a per-client basis and working with Napier technical consultants to deliver them.
  • Owing the overall Napier view of the solution, working with client and 3rd party teams to maintain a coherent and consistent view of flows and integrations
  • Producing and enhancing documentation to support clients’ integration to Napier
  • Working with Napier’s Operations team when deploying and upgrading client instances
  • Mentoring / governance of Technical Consultants in relation to the specific client projects ad solutions being built

Requirements

  • Excellent client communication skills, both written and verbal consulting skills
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances
  • Strong technical background in clustered/distributed systems with API-based integration and workflows
  • Proven ability to work with both client and internal teams to tight deadlines
  • A strong background in delivering client technology projects / senior technical lead for projects
  • You will typically be working on multiple concurrent projects /pre-sales activities and must have the ability to context-switch and prioritise effectively
  • A financial services background would be an advantage, preferably with experience of compliance and AML solutions
  • Practical experience of web-based architectures and solutions
  • Excellent knowledge API-based integration approaches, standard and messaging formats (including authentication techniques)
