Your new role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Commercial and Design team ‘based’ at our site in South Melbourne. This role is offered as a 12-monthfixed term contract to cover a period of parental leave within our existing team.

Reporting to our State Manager - Commercial amp; Design, you will act as the front-line ‘face of GWA’ to our Commercial Customers. These customers include aged care providers, developers, builders, architects, commercial plumbers and key industry stakeholders.

A ‘typical’ day will see you developing and maintaining relationships with key external decision makers and influencers to ensure GWA’s interests are protected and business opportunities are identified, whilst working with internal stakeholders to support key construction projects.

Most importantly, you will manage key accounts at a senior level, supporting the sale of all commercial offerings. You will deliver this by assisting in the preparation of budgets and sales targets, ensuring that GWA deliver on agreed targets and growth expectations.

About you

As a Business Development Manager with a minimum of 4 years’ previous experience from the commercial, building and construction industry, you will:

  • Have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with work colleagues and customers at all organisational levels both internal and external to the organisation.
  • Be able to influence business leaders, distributors and retailers, to achieve improved commercial outcomes for GWA
  • Be adaptable and agile, with a demonstrated ability to create great customer experiences
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Have knowledge of, and skills in, applying the principles and processes in developing and implementing marketing strategies and sales techniques.
  • A good understanding of product development
  • And preferably hold a Diploma or Tertiary qualification in Marketing Business, Architecture or Design
