About the Product Design team
One of the principles of our design team is to ‘show the future’. As designers we transport the rest of the company into a future we’re yet to build. A big part of the role of a product designer at Canva is to be a visionaryvisualizing and reinventing the future of design.
Product designers at Canva take the dream and make it something everyone can relate to and rally behind. We start from the very early stages: finding the right problem to tackle, exploring ideas for how to solve it, and then refining it into a coherent solution. Our product designers carry out research, brainstorming, sketching, prototyping, and collaboration with our engineers to ship great products. We are empathetic user advocates and respect our users’ opinions through interviews, usability testing, and data analysis, as well as wireframing, flowcharting, and journey mapping to show the different stages that customers go through as they come into contact with Canva.


About the group and team
The Print amp; Partnerships group is building the best creation tool in the world for print products and unleashing the power of Canva via print and digital partnerships with the world’s leading organizationsGrowing Canva Print has become a key goal this year and our group is doubling down on doing a wide range of new product initiatives focused on the workplace and collaboration, while building the foundations of a Print Marketplace to accelerate Canva’s vision to empower the world to truly design anything, and publish anywhere.
We’ve seen incredible growth and we are rapidly scaling in this space, but there is a whole lot more to do to achieve our vision and so we are looking for a product designer to join us and help propel us towards our mission.
About the candidate
We are looking for someone who can solve complex problems with a systematic approach in a fast-paced environment. Working within a cross-functional team you’ll be collaborating and communicating with stakeholders across our group and broader Canva to deliver new products, improve our end-to-end user experience and help to build our eCommerce functionality that will have a large scale impact on Canva and end-users.Goals the candidate will achieve
  • Settle in, learn the Print amp; Partnerships landscape at Canva and help the team to execute a new product project from the current roadmap (first 3 months)
  • Work with the team to bring to life our Print Marketplace initiatives
  • Improve our Canva Print experience to boost creation and activation
  • Work with the team to define the future of Canva Print and live up to our promise to Publish Anywhere
Experience you'll need
  • 3 + years experience as a product designer building and shipping applications or software prior eCommerce experience is a huge plus.
  • Experience representing work to stakeholders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts
  • Experience showcasing your end-to-end design process across multiple projects, that include interaction and visual design artifacts, multiple iterations, high-fidelity prototypes, and consideration of the impact and scale of work
  • Experience connecting your work with other industry-leading related initiatives across the company while driving collaboration
  • A portfolio that demonstrates experience in product thinking where you have previously shipped UX/UI design for digital products.
  • You are a designer that is constantly inspiredmotivating those around you through your passion and drive for what you do.
  • You are excited by regularly coming up with new ideas, shipping new products and features that address your users’ real needs.
  • You shine through your designscreating user flow
