Job Description

Universal Biosensors (UBI) is a world leading, publicly listed Australian company (ASX:UBI) which develops, manufactures and sells biosensors for use in several industries around the world. Our biosensor technology has been used in more than 10 billion measurements for blood glucose monitoring and blood coagulation in diabetes and coagulation patients worldwide. Recently, we have pivoted our technology into the wine industry with our global launch of SENTIA earlier this year. In addition, we continue to develop new applications for our technology within human health, veterinarian and food amp; agriculture.

We are looking for a focused and driven individual to join us at our HQ office in Melbourne as a Operations Analyst. This position is a key player in the team, supporting the Head of Operations in identifying and developing new internal processes that optimises our alignment to the Company's strategic objectives.

The role will consist of (but not limited to) the following activities:-

  • Identify and deliver on efficiency improvement opportunities across the business
  • Working with key stakeholders to re-engineer business processes towards LEAN
  • Analyse existing production processes to develop recommendations for improvements to minimise risk, cost and/or wastage in order to increase yield and productivity
  • Perform capability analysis on development and commercialisation of new products, including identify new product pathways involving regulatory, engineering and quality analysis.
  • Drive the sourcing and qualification of raw materials from primary/secondary suppliers to maintain continuity of supply and mitigate supply risks, esp. for in-market products.
  • Act as key point of contact for co-ordinating new ERP objectives and improvement.

Requirements

You are a flexible team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment with a 'can do' attitude! In addition to Tertiary qualification (with GPA: D or HD) in Science/Biotechnology, Supply Chain, Engineering (or similar), the following skills and qualifications are considered necessary in this role:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a GMP/regulated environment
  • Strong analytical, process modelling and evaluation skills
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operations metrics
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently or within a team
  • Results driven with high attention to detail
  • Self-starter who sets challenging goals to improve performance
  • Attention to detail and good communication skills.
  • Well-articulated with ability to present complex information in a simple and meaningful way to all levels of management

The following skills are considered desirable but not essential:

  • Understanding of change management or continuous improvement (Lean Six Sigma) methodologies
  • Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and FDA CFR Part 820 QMS requirements
