Job Description

Fronditha Care is a not-for-profit Aged Care Provider committed to delivering services to Australian elders of Culturally and Linguistic backgrounds in Victoria and regional NSW. The longstanding organisation is seeking an experienced, motivated, and all-round handy person to join the Fronditha Care team at their Templestowe Lower Residential Aged Care Facility, on a part time basis (24 hours per week).


The Role

You will be required to attend to all preventative and corrective maintenance schedules of the Residential Aged Care facility.

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and control supplies and equipment.
  • Purchase and maintain materials, stores and provisions as required.
  • Undertake repair and cleaning work of plant and equipment as per manufacturers’ guidelines.
  • Ensure day-to-day running of all maintenance requirements at the facility such as general repairs, waste removal, test and tagging.
  • Oversee and coordinate any required contractors working on site.

Requirements

We are looking for a motivated hands-on individual who is proactive in assessing maintenance needs, is able to work independently and as part of a team, as well as have a friendly personality who can relate and communicate with the residents. Ideally you should be an all-round handyman with an eye for detail.


To be successful in this role you will have the following requirements:

  • Good organisational skills,
  • Strong understanding and applied knowledge of Occupational Health amp; Safety requirements,
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills,
  • A current drivers’ license, and access to a fully insured vehicle are essential,
  • A trade qualification is desirable.
