We are now looking for a passionate and driven Category Manager to join our dynamic Strategic Sourcing team. The successful candidate will provide support to the team at our head office in Alexandria, playing a major role in building a category strategy and creating a compelling, curated offering for our customers. This role reports to our Director of Strategic Sourcing and works very closely with our Culinary, Sourcing, Marketing, Purchasing and FSQA teams, defining the range for our add-on cook yourself and pantry portfolio, sourcing and selecting the right products to deliver against our product and range strategy whilst ensuring that we can provide against the quality and safety our customers have come to expect of Marley Spoon.
Responsibilities
- Full ownership and curation of our online product range to deliver against key business metrics and customer happiness.
- Creating and nurturing long term partnerships with new and existing leading brands and suppliers.
- Understanding the competitive landscape and differentiating our offering to attract and retain customers in our ecosystem.
- Partnering with internal Marketing and Culinary teams to identify promotional and sales opportunities.
- Using data and analytics to lead the continuous development and improvement of your range and work with the NPD team.
- Working with cross-functional teams in Australia and Germany to execute range and website improvements, all of which are based on consumer insights and best in class e-commerce.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or procurement with a strong emphasis on eCommerce and/or retail experience.
- Proven buying and/or seller management experience at a Category Manager level.
- Strong background and demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence with cross-functional and external stakeholders at all levels across the business.
- Strong commercial understanding and ability to use data and insights to make customer lead decisions.
- Collaborator who works well across teams and functions, with excellent interpersonal and relationship skills as well as the ability to manage a fast-paced workload with enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.
- Proven project management skills. Capable of independently running complex projects spanning all business functions.
- Ability to structure, write and influence written specifications, and the NPD process.
