Requirements

A Typical Day Might Look Like:

• Planning, coordinating and overseeing the DevOps Engineering team activities to ensure services are provided and projects are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Designing our achievement and progress metrics, creating visibility to the company
• Budgeting and forecasting for the tools you require to support the vision you are striving for
• Designing, implementing, measuring and continuously enhancing security measures and practices within the Engineering Team
• Designing and implementing automation in the release and deployment pipelines to create efficient and bug-free release cycles
• Proven experience with MS Azure and containerization tools like Kubernetes
• Proven experience to implement tools and processes that leverage the service mesh architecture (i.e. istio, dapr, Service Fabric)
• Contribute to the Software Security Guild and Architecture Guild

You will also have accountability over the following functions:

Site Reliability

• Design, implement and maintain scalable, reliable and available infrastructure to support a rapid cloud growth trajectory
• Provide visibility to the company on platform performance and reliability
• Implement efficient processes and tools for robust site reliability
• Manage, maintain and optimise cloud infrastructure

Release Management

• Experienced in CI/CD
• Work closely with development teams to optimise the integration, deployment and running of backend services.

Delivery Management

• Work with the Delivery Manager to ensure the seamless coordination of releases into the market

You are great at/ You should have:

• At list 3+ years in a team or technical leadership position.

• At least 5+ year’s experience in designing and implementing complex solutions.

• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on development capability in multiple, relevant capabilities. (eg. Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform, Jenkins, etc).

• Experience managing a team of DevOps engineers and Site Reliability Engineers.

• Proven experience within DevOps and managing large scale cloud deployments (Azure or similar).

• Experience with Linux and a solid understanding of the SDLC and testing frameworks 10+ years’ experience leading and managing technical operations teams with the curiosity and desire to learn new technologies, approaches, and management techniques.?

• Strong organisational and communication skills with experience developing amp; instilling a culture of collaboration and high performance.
• Resilience to be able to work to tight deadlines in a changing industry, and the ability to think strategically under pressure in a commercial environment.
