Catch is embarking on an exciting journey of growth, as our business grows so does our team. We are seeking a Fulfilment Centre Operations Manager to join our state-of-the-art Fulfilment Centre based in Moorebank. This is where the magic happens! The Fulfilment Centre strives to provide a high level of customer service and get orders out in a timely manner to our loyal Catch customers.

We're now looking for a highly experienced and capable Inbound Manager to join our Catch Leadership Team. We are installing state-of-the-art cutting-edge facility in Moorebank using AMR technology, and you will play a leading role in taking Catch on this journey! In addition to managing our Inbound department, you will also play a pivotal role in the integration and management of our funky Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) System with our Warehouse Management System (WMS).

What you’ll be doing

What does a normal day in the life of a Fulfilment Centre Operations Manager look like?

Well, no two days are alike at Catch, but you could probably expect your typical day to include some of the following things:

  • Own and deliver the operational budget for functional area, including safety, productivity, financial and labour planning, and operational goals for inbound operations
  • Responsible for providing strategic level/long-term planning (3, 6, and 12 months out) including labour planning, rate forecasting, and peak season planning
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and improve productivity to meet and exceed business objectives.
  • Effectively leverages the Operations FC Leaders to solicit ideas and understand problems and challenges within the Fulfilment Centre.
  • Networks with other leaders cross functionally within Operations and the greater business to solicit and share process improvements and drive efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Establish objectives and metrics for safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience
  • Set clear goals and expectations for the leadership team within Inbound
  • Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold leaders accountable
  • Participate in recruiting to identify and evaluate staff and internal/external candidates for promotion and hire
  • Work closely with support teams to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives
  • Promote a culture of integrity, learning and accountability in staff; and provide a supportive environment to encourage staff growth and development.
  • Do active career development and succession planning to ensure the continued development and growth of staff while protecting the knowledge base of the business.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a fast-based environment, preferably within a Fulfilment Centre or DC setting.
  • Relevant qualification in Logistics Management or a related discipline; or preparedness to undertake such study to complement the role and the business requirements.
  • Direct people management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics environment.
  • Occupational Health and Safety knowledge
  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies
  • Experience with the full staffing lifecycle
  • Candidates must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands
  • Experience with automation within an operations environment
  • Confident with Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated experience with Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Valid driver’s licence
