There’s a variety of design questions we face each day, like: (1) How do we help people transition from a historically offline purchase journey to confidently evaluating and buying online? (2) How do we create a calm and simple shopping experience that’s also impactful for the business? (3) How do we help customers with interior design amp; decoration needs more broadly? (4) How do we create scalable tools for our Stylists in Studio? You’ll bring deep functional expertise to address these questions and more. Specifically, you will:

• Define. Establish scalable and repeatable process to collect customer needs and convey narratives around opportunity, using known playbooks like Double Diamond
• Partner. Drive product through the business with product management, engineering and cross-functional partners like merchandise and marketing
• Iterate. Find scalable ways to test ideas (think ‘unmoderated research’) and less scalable methods like prototyping and guerilla testing
• Mentor. Elevate the design thinking across the company and mentor team mates

We’re looking for a design leader to guide Product Design at Brosa. As the business scales, we need people that can define how we work as much as what we work on. As a senior member of our design team, you'll help recruit and mentor new teammates and work with stakeholders across functions, levels and geographies.

We don’t expect you to tick all the boxes, because we know the right person for the job will be able to learn what they need to succeed in their role. • 7+ years experience with a track record of shipping impactful design
• An ability to think in design systems, making experiences as scalable as they are elegant and delightful
• A superpower with interaction or visual design, with enough strength across both to carry the team while we grow
• Accustomed to designing for web amp; mobile web and the best practices that come with responsive design
• Tried all manner of design process and can focus the team on what matters most at each stage of development
• Significant experience with research methods and could comfortably moderate an ‘open card sorting exercise’, for example
• Ideally, experience designing for the consumer space or otherwise great instincts
• Ideally, effective prototyping skills that allow us to test with real people long before shipping, e.g. with Principle/ProtoPie
• Ideally, an eye for motion that leads you to a deep personal pain when confronted with poor transitions or ‘flicker’
• Ideally, experience with modern collaborative design tools like Figma
• Ideally, a sense of what’s ‘easy and hard to build’, having worked alongside Engineers for a long time

The successful Staff Product Designer will bring stakeholders together to craft a vision amp; strategy then execute like crazy to make it happen. You’ll help the team take strides on foundational elements of seamless shopping with a framework eye toward the future and the layering on of rich experiences like expert design advice (leveraging virtual stylists and visual content), custom tooling (moodboarding, modular configuration) and cross-channel navigation (seamless hand-off between website and studio).
