We are looking for a Group Compliance Manager to join our Legal team in Bentleigh East. You’ll play an essential part in managing and supporting the Groups compliance function by developing and execution of risk and compliance programs and initiatives. This role requires reviewing and coordinating changes to website and marketing content to ensure compliance with various laws related to advertising as well as developing policies and processes to better standardise current practice.
What you’ll be doing
What does a normal day in the life of a Group Compliance Manager look like? Well, no 2 days are alike at Catch but you could probably expect your day to include some of the following things:
- Manage and assist the advertising compliance team and develop, maintain and update policies and procedures to enhance the Group’s compliance initiatives
- Work alongside the legal team and Kmart Group Risk and Compliance team to implement Catch’s compliance initiatives that align with our business strategy
- Continuously improve the Compliance and Governance framework and develop and implement governance framework and policies
- Partner with and advise the senior leadership team on legislative changes that will impact the Group
- Investigate alleged compliance breaches to determine cause of issue of breach and escalate to Catch Legal where appropriate
- Review all website content and advertising material to ensure it complies with Australian Consumer Law and other relevant legislation
- Assist Merchandising, Copy and Graphics teams in creating website content that is compliant with Australian Advertising laws
- Handle risk and compliance assessment and reporting framework within core compliance areas in concert with the broader Kmart Group Risk and Compliance team
- Partner with Catch Legal to develop, maintain, update and deliver training content and mange training programs for existing employees relating to the Groups compliance initiatives, rules and procedures
- Work with Customer Service to develop, maintain and update policies and procedures, ensuring best practice in relation to Australian Consumer law
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification or Law degree would be regarded but not required
- Experience in operations. compliance or similar role related to advertising or marketing in a retail environment
- Experience managing a team
- Sound knowledge of competition and Australian Consumer law
- Able to articulate legal terms and guidelines to provide advice to the business
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail
