As the Director, Data Engineering and Data Security at Prodigy,we are looking to you tolead a team to help design/develop our data systems and processesenabling well-governed data and analyticsto understand our business and build new products while protecting our users' privacy. You and your team will collaborate across departments and teams, ensuring that data is both well protected and governed while usable for analytics and product.
We are looking for an experienced candidate who is great at both leading people and solving hard business problems. You should be comfortable working hands-on with your team, and coaching and supporting their growth and delivery. You should also be a master at identifying key problems given a domain and expanding them to actionable plans.Your Impact

- Support and mentor team members, and scale up the team and its effectiveness
- Contribute cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and the Data Team to ensure we have the right Data, Tooling, and Processes
- Help drive alignment across our Engineer, Product, and Data Engineering groups on architecture choices for data products.
Who You Are
- Extensive experience in leading teams and growing people
- Demonstrated strong ability in technical mentorship and leadership
- Strong communication skills and can clearly explain and sell the value of technical projects
- Has managed high performing team(s) with many stakeholders and competing priorities
- Extensive understanding of Data Security and Governance practices.
- Expertise in developing large scale data warehouses, data lakes, or cloud-native data and analytics platforms
- Expert skills and knowledge of traditional data tools and programming languages (Python, Scala, SQL)
- Knowledge of distributed computing and architecture (Spark)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Github Actions or Jenkins to configure and build CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of IaC tools such as Terraform
- Experience working with streaming services such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Spark Streaming
- Expertise in cloud ecosystems and their data tooling (AWS, GCP)
- Knowledge of various BI platforms and how they integrated with the rest of the Data Stack (Periscope, Tableau, Looker)
