Software Engineer - Route Optimisation

Description
We are looking for the right person to join a high performing engineering team that can hit the ground running as a Senior Engineer. You will quickly become a key part of the company, ability to handle a fast learning curve and share knowledge and experience across the wider Engineering team is key to success in this role. Very quickly you will be helping the team deliver on high profile and global projects. This role requires a mix of strong technical expertise and experience in a fast paces dynamic position.

In this role you will be responsible for developing a detailed understanding of our route optimisation systems and be part of designs and development related to improving it's performance across key metrics and growing the system in order for it to handle large scale optimisation problems within the Liftango product suite. You will be responsible for providing input on the design of products and features from the perspective of the route optimisation system.

What You'll Do Day To Day:

• Identifying issues and producing designs to resolve them
• Writing design documents and planning through Jira
• Implementing improvements to our routing optimisation system
• Discussing and designing APIs for this system
• Deploying changes to our staging and production environments
• Communicating with Engineers and other members of the Liftango team

Requirements

Expected:

• Tertiary qualifications in relevant field, and/or equivalent experience in relevant roles
• 4+ Years of experience in Java, JavaScript, Python or equivalent programming languages
• Experience with Git or equivalent VCS
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithm design
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Passion, enthusiasm and demonstrated flexibility

Nice to have:

• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL Databases
• Experience with NodeJS and Typescript
• Experience with CI/CD Pipelines and deployment processes
• Experience with Jira or similar project management software
