Working an even-time 7/7 roster, this full-time fixed-term, Kalgoorlie-based residential role, allows for great work-life balance, and an optimal lifestyle in the Goldfields.

The Company

Northern Star Resources is a global, gold growth company, with three large, high margin production centres, exclusively in tier one locations of Western Australia and Alaska, USA. Production guidance is 1.6 million ounces in the current financial year, climbing to 2 million ounces by FY27.

Requirements

This opportunity is residential in the Goldfields, on a full time, 2 year fixed-term contract, working a 7/7 even-time roster, and 12.5 hour shifts.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Operating CAT 793 and 777 haul trucks in the open pit, working in conjunction with PC 8000 Face shovels, Excavators and Loaders, to fulfil production requirements in a safe and reliable manner.
• Operating haul trucks across various areas of the NSR-KCGM site, including the Fimiston Open Pit, Rehandle Ore Delivery area, Stick picking and other trainee-related activities to build your familiarisation to operating in a mining environment.
• Trainee CAT 793/777 Haul Truck Operators will be enrolled in a formal Certificate 3 in Surface Extraction, which will require completion over a 24 month period. Candidates will therefore be employed on a 24 month fixed-term contract, to align with certificate terms.
• You will be a highly driven individual, looking to expand your knowledge and experience
• You will also display behaviour consistent with our Northern Star Values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect and Results, looking to work with the business for the long-term, and be an integral part in its future growth and development.

Required skills and experience include:

• Heavy machinery or other industrial machine operating experience beneficial
• Exceptional focus on safety and strong work ethic
• Ability to speak up At Northern Star we encourage our employees to speak up
• National Police Clearance (valid within the last 6 months)
• Current unencumbered Western Australian "C" Class Manual Drivers Licence
• You must reside in the Goldfield region for this residential opportunity
• Registrations with the RTO for the Certificate III in Surface Extraction over a 24 month period.
