Senior Mine Geologist

Northern Star Resources has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Senior Mine Geologist at our world-class KCGM Operations. This opportunity is offered as residential in the Goldfields. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate, via the Grade Control Team, to deliver the maximum ore grade to the Mineral Processing Plant, through accurate identification of mineralisation, optimal ore classification, ROM stockpile management and supervision of extraction.

The Company

Northern Star Resources is the global gold growth company, with three large, high margin production centres exclusively in the tier one locations of Western Australia and Alaska, USA. Production guidance is 1.6 million ounces in the current financial year, before climbing to 2 million ounces by FY27.

Requirements

Essential

• A tertiary qualification (minimum degree level) in geology.
• Current Unencumbered Western Australian C Class Drivers Licence.
• Minimum six (6) years’ experience as a geologist, with at least five (5) years in a mine geology environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sampling, Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC), block modelling, advanced grade estimation techniques, and reconciliation.
• Experience with Contractor Management (analytical assay and drilling).
• Open Pit experience in a hard rock environment.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Good listening and decision making skills.
• Well developed leadership skills.
• Ten (10) years experience as a geologist.
• Open Pit experience in gold.
• Experience in Vulcan and/ or Datamine.
• Exposure to resources modelling.

Preferred

• Ten (10) years experience as a geologist.
