Cape Mentelle Vineyard is proud to be one of Margaret River’s ‘founding’ wineries. Our winery has pioneered many of the region’s renowned wine styles and today is a benchmark for the quality of the region’s wines. We aim to produce wines that capture a unique sense of place in every bottle. These characteristics are defined by our pristine coastal location, unique soils and 50 years of viticultural history.
Vintage at Cape Mentelle
Each year, Cape Mentelle builds a team of exceptionally skilled Vineyard Hands from various backgrounds to bring their dedication and knowledge to support us with the year’s harvest. We provide comprehensive training, a social amp; and collaborative work structure and broad work tasks to allow you to immerse yourself and build an intimate understanding of vineyard processes. You will have direct access to our viticulturists and ability to build your professional networks with staff from around the world.
During the harvest period, you may be required work shifts of up to 12 hours in length and up to 6 days per week.
The Vintage Vineyard Hands will be responsible for operating tractors and other vineyard machinery, assisting in:
- net application,
- canopy management,
- vine training and general vineyard maintenance
- as well as actively participate in all harvesting activities, by hand and machine.
For this role, prior viticultural or related horticultural experience is mandatory, completed or on-going qualifications in viticulture is desirable.
Requirements
In order for your application to be considered, you must:
- Be in Western Australia or Australia;
- Be able to commit to the role for the entire vintage period;
- Have the ability to Meet Australian work Visa requirements;
- Solid English language skills;
- Resilience and a good sense of humour.
